The biggest hurdle for healers

A hand reaches out amidst a field of vibrant flowers, enveloped by an ethereal orb of light, symbolizing the connection between nature, inner peace, and personal transformation fostered by the healing coaching business

For many healers the biggest hurdle is learning to see themselves as business owners.

At some point you recognize that in order to make a living doing what you love, you need to get sustainable systems in place.

Yet, the last thing you want to deal with is how to market your services, implement systems, and learn about best business practices.

If you’re a healer like me, you signed up for the magic, the transformation, the depth that comes with working in direct relationship with another human being.

You signed up for the human experience.

You know you have the spirit of a healer if you are obsessed with transformation and change, if you are constantly musing about the dance between life and death, if you spend a lot of your time contemplating the meaning of life.

People who have the spirit of a healer are also obsessed with learning. You want to continually cultivate yourself and touch deep into the work you do. You want to taste the marrow of life. You want to bring the human and the spiritual experience together.

You may also spend a lot of your time in personal practice, studying healing technologies, assembling new knowledge, and learning with / from your colleagues, mentors and teachers.

But, somewhere along the way, you arrive at a painful realization. You recognize that in order to keep the magic going you need better structures in place to support what you do – to support you creatively, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

When things are no longer working well for you, in the work life balance, you may be at a crucial point of change that needs some guidance.

It is likely time to create better structures as you move through your personal and professional growth edges. A foundation that will enable your work to flourish, create more clarity for your clients and sustain your well being.

You care deeply about your work. And you may not always want to give the business side the same attention. If this is true for you - you are not alone.

If you are a transformational healer who is less interested in managing all that needs to go into sustaining a healthy and long-lived business - I hear you!

As healing practitioners, we care most about the experience we bring to our clients. We care about helping them heal, transform and grow. We care about the relationships we are building and the impact we are having.

Business systems and strategies become more interesting however when you can see how it directly impacts your clients and the meaningful work you signed up for in the first place.

What I hear most is that healers simply don’t like the business side of things or feel that they are not wired for it. This is where there is the greatest opportunity for a paradigm shift.

We need to reframe how you view what a business is. You can do it your way. You can create it differently than your teachers and colleagues. You can create outside of the box. And there are very practical skills you can learn to make it work.

When you approach building a business through a heart-centered lens, the building process becomes a direct reflection of your healing intention.

It becomes a direct manifestation of your creative energy.

If we fail to see the importance of structures and strategies, we risk burning out from the work we love.

Structure, systems and strategies are conscious choices, they are the architecture that holds the deeper meaning of your work.

When you have strong structures to support your work, your essence as a healer can shine through.

Are you a healing practitioner who is struggling with the business side of things?
