Befriending Our Shadow

Often, when fear arises we recognize what is most true in our longing.

The important phases of moving our creative work forward are the moments we experience the greatest resistance.

Overwhelm, procrastination, fear, blame, anger, frustration, self-doubt, sabotage accompany us all.

Over time, how we respond to ourselves and others, in these moments, shape who we become.

The truth is when you hit a shadow place inside you are touching into a cornerstone of growth.

You are recognizing who you are at a deep level and the potential for healing begins.

This pivotal moment of awareness often reveals itself through the struggle of feeling vulnerable.

Within this tender moment of awakening there is a longing for something more, new, and different. But, how?

A response is being sought. A process is underway.

Feelings of sadness, disappointment, fear of the unknown, anxiety and excitement, all signify the roots to a new area for growth from within.

This process of unfolding is tender and new.

To bring healing and support to forgotten places takes cultivation, fortitude, patience and care.

Allowing for what is underneath to emerge. For your true needs to be heard and met.

Navigating the terrain of the shadow in brings myself and my clients both into the training ground of depth of presence. It teaches us about true compassion. It shows how much every human being needs to feel met with love, support, and encouragement to grow.

When presence and understanding hold the space we are changed.

This space of depth of presence yields the learning. And we recognize struggle and disappointment are the beginnings to a path to change.

This process of change is a threshold we cross into the unknown parts of who we are.

It is also part of the remembrance we seek.

May you have courage to meet the parts of you inviting you further into the fullness of life. May you receive the gift yourself is offering you.

For every deep seeker.

With love,

Andrea
