Open Palms

Your body floats above heaven, where fire does not burn. In this moment you are weightless. Each layer of the past lifted like a fine silk. The violet flame casts its gentle glow upon you. Everything softens. From where you are now you rest in a place of truth, seeing clearly. What has passed is past. You are letting go. Shedding old skin. You have worked away a great deal to see it this way.

To be free.

As your palms open ashes cascade in the wind. Your eyes look onward and everywhere.

Like the snake shedding its skin, we are being asked to let go and renew our tender selves through truth. This letting go can bear anguish, confusion and disorientation, while at the same time, deliver us to the root of what needs to be healed.

When a layer of ourselves has been out grown change starts to happen. The old skin sloughs off by way of new skin emerging from underneath. The butterfly is born from the dissolved remains of a caterpillar. The Phoenix rises from the ash.

Life / Death / Life

Cycles are at play and when we approach a new level of awareness from within it can seem as if everything is out of place. We can feel discouraged by grief and exhilarated by the unknown.

Something new is pushing its way through.

Truth casts a startling reflection. It becomes a mirror for what we have been unable or unwilling to see before. And we might not know what to do with it. As it stares at us we stare back at it. Half in shock, half in wonder. How could this be? Until slowly we see. As we recognize the delicacy of this finely tuned recognition, we also see how far we have come. Indeed, to see ourselves anew. How far we’ve come to be this real, this close, and intimate with who we are.

As much as it holds great power to shift our experience, truth can be overwhelming. It teachings unveil a path not yet traveled. It creates an opening while simultaneously destroying the constructs that were built for understanding our previous reality.

It is at this time that our circumstances ask us to surrender. Giving way into being with what is. We engage with loss. We face the death that is inherent to life. We let go into a wave of rebirth. We move forward towards the faint light of a new beginning. We no longer resist, but allow ourselves the embrace of the unknown. Cradled and swathed in a body made from tears. We tend. We nurture. We love. We come home to ourselves. We are new again.
